HEAD Extreme: HEAD's spin series

The HEAD Extreme is HEAD's spin series – built for attacking players at intermediate to advanced level who drive the ball from the baseline with plenty of topspin. The open 16/19 string pattern (16 mains, 19 crosses) and the Spin Grommets let the strings move more freely: every shot picks up more rotation. Topspin is the forward spin that carries the ball safely over the net and drops it steeply into the court.

Within the HEAD tennis racket range, the Extreme has a clear place. The HEAD Boom is more forgiving on off-centre hits, while HEAD Radical, HEAD Prestige and HEAD Speed prioritise control over spin. The Extreme sits in between: plenty of bite on the ball, without needing to hit every shot dead-centre. That's why you'll find it among the HEAD tournament rackets as well as the HEAD rackets for advanced players.

Which models belong to the HEAD Extreme range?

Six models for adults, all with a 16/19 string pattern. They differ in weight, head size and length – and in how much swing you need to bring yourself.

Head size is the strung hitting area: the bigger it is, the bigger the sweet spot – the zone where a hit gives you the best combination of control and power. New for 2026 is Hy-Bor: HEAD weaves boron fibres into the graphite frame, which the manufacturer says adds stability at the moment of impact. The MP UL and Team also feature among the all-round rackets and the HEAD tennis rackets for women.

A thin, grippy string grips the ball better than a soft one: you'll find these among the HEAD tennis strings and the strings for spin. Add HEAD grips when it's time to change your grip. With the HEAD demo rackets you can try out the series on court for free.

Many players reach for the Pro because it's the heaviest – and then run out of swing by the third set. Start with the MP instead: if you can move it comfortably, you'll gain spin and still feel fresh on court at match end. If it feels like hard work, go for the MP L.

No, all six adult models are shipped unstrung. That way you choose the string and tension yourself and match them to your game.
