Reebok: Where Tradition Meets Innovation
Reebok is a US sporting goods manufacturer that has caused quite a stir in recent years in particular. The reason for this is its innovative work in areas such as sports shoes, sportswear and much more. Yet Reebok's company history began as far back as 1895. That means the brand combines genuine innovative strength with a heritage that has few equals in the sporting goods industry. Tennis players can benefit from the expertise of this Boston-based company too. Suddenly Popular: Reebok's Meteoric Rise Thanks to Aerobics and More
Reebok was founded in Great Britain, although back then it went by the name "J.W. Foster and Sons". The name alone makes it clear that this was a family business. The outfitter made its first major appearance at the Olympic Games in 1924. In Paris, the company produced the running shoes for the competing athletes. It was not until 1958 that two of the founder's grandsons launched the company known today as Reebok. And it took almost another 20 years before Reebok achieved its breakthrough in the USA. Through contacts with manufacturers in Asia and with innovative ideas, the company grew from a small shoe label into a major sports brand. By the mid-1980s, Reebok's share of the American market already stood at almost 35 percent. In 1984, Reebok generated revenue of 66 million dollars – a phenomenal increase in a very short space of time. The sports company made its name above all with its colourful aerobics shoes.
As the aerobics hype gradually died down, Reebok expanded its range to include basketball shoes, children's shoes, sportswear and accessories. In 1990, the international divisions, which until then had been run independently of one another, were finally brought together. The company hoped this would unlock even greater potential in areas such as innovation and strategy. Expansion was pushed forward as well: by the early 1990s, Reebok was available in more than 140 countries. The really big deal, however, was still to come in 2006, when Reebok was bought by the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas for 3.8 billion dollars. After many ups and downs, the two sporting giants have been going their separate ways again since 2021. Adidas sold Reebok to the Authentic Brands Group, which has close ties to former basketball player Shaquille O'Neal.

Serena Williams is also supported by Reebok. The American star relies on Reebok tennis clothing, for instance. These on-trend designs impress both visually and in functional terms. Reebok tennis bags are highly sought after as well. With innovative designs and unique colour combinations, they deliver across the board.
